New gestures, tape overdub, Turing mode, a remembered input gain and more, built into your own copy of the official firmware.
The first time, your mod build must be installed with Make Noise's official audio update procedure, exactly like an official firmware update.
The SD-card updater is itself one of the mods, so it isn't on your module until this first audio install. After that, updates come from the card.
Build below and download the update WAV.
Remove the SD card. Connect your computer or phone to Left Signal IN, at about 80% volume.
Power on while holding REC. Only the SPLICE window lights, in green. Release REC.
Play the update WAV from start to end. The windows flash while it loads, then all lights flash when it's done.
Finish as Make Noise's instructions say, including the Varispeed calibration: power on holding SPLICE, turn Varispeed fully both ways, press SPLICE, then power-cycle.
From then on, put mgmod.bin at the root of the card and power on. When the update has worked, the file is renamed mgmod.ok.
Start from the unmodified mg204.wav from Make Noise's Morphagene firmware page. It's checked, then modified here in the page.
Every mod is switched here. Load the options.txt from your card to edit it in place, keeping your stock settings.
SHIFT + Slide (Gene start jitter) has no setting: it's off until you turn it up. Turing root 100% means no pitch shifting.
Run the same audio procedure as the first time, with the official mg204.wav. The bootloader sits below the firmware and no mod or SD update ever writes it, so this always works, even if a build won't start.
